Galentine’s Day is just around the corner! For those of you who may not know what the heck Galentine’s Day is, it’s a day for women to celebrate women (hey we do that every day! 😊). It’s Valentine’s Day with your gals. The new holiday debuted in a 2010 episode of Parks and Recreation where the fictional deputy director of Parks and Recreation in Pawnee, Indiana, Leslie Knope celebrated the joy of her female friendships over brunch with waffles and excessive gift giving.
To celebrate our WA Women in GIS & Technology (WWGT) women, please join us virtually on February 16th at 6PM for our version of Galentine’s Day. While we cannot offer waffles or excessive gifts, we do have special activities planned: including a craft activity, chocolate tasting, and trivia contest. We will be mailing an activity bag before the event, so please RSVP as soon as possible and no later than February 3rd to wawomeningis@gmail.com.
We encourage you to find a buddy or two to attend the event together in person (depending on your COVID comfort level), if you need help finding a WWGT Galantine in your area, please contact us and we will help pair you up.
Thank you and we hope to see all the “poetic and noble land mermaids” there!
This will be a virtual meeting. Please email wawomeningis@gmail.com to request meeting information.
